Think of the check ligament as the webbing between your fingers and the
injured check as a small cut in that webbing. It's not real painfull to
start. It will heal, but is difficult to heal. and in the meantime will give
you a little or a lot of trouble depending on how much additional stress you
put on it. It's nothing as nasty as a bow or suspensory pull, but, still, a
pain in the butt. My recommendation: easy miles until there is no sign of
swelling, or until any residual bump has hardened and stabilized.
