I've been listening in on your discussion of the 5-day rides and I've
realised that they are a format we don't have here in Australia. We have one
"5-day ride" on our calendar, the Shahzada, but it is different in that you
enter for the full five days, and you must complete the full five days
(400km or 250miles) to complete the ride. The rides you guys are describing
sound like you can enter for any number of the days that you like. How does
this work? Do you enter for a nominated number of days in the beginning? Or
for the whole ride? If you just entered for one day can you then increase
that and ride more days? If you vet out on the 4th day do you still get your
completions for days 1-3? Can you ride say the 1st and 3rd days, or do you
have to ride every day until you quit? Do you get multiple completion
prizes/trophies for each of the days, or a single prize for whatever
distance you do? Do you have ride winners/placegetters and fittest horses
each day or just for the whole ride? How do you award points in your
regional or national pointscores from these rides? These rides sound like a
really interesting format, and I'd like to learn more about the way you run
them.
