And on getting their confidence about coming out. My gelding was a halter
horse hauled around in the big cushy vans with huge ramps so when I put him
in my 2 horse inline with step down I had the same problem. I used the rope
around the front method to ease him out without panicing him and I pat him on
the butt when he reaches the 'drop' and say 'feet'. May seem stupid but he
trusts me about it, unloads like a dream and the 'feet' recognition helps on
the trail too when I want him to pay particular attention to where he's
going.
