I've found the backing out posts interesting. Although Felix is no angel
on trailering (he loads in our trailer fine, hates everybody elses), he
"trusts" me on backing out. We have a slant load (as does my friend whose
trailer he hates). First we unsnap the trailer tie, then release the
butt-bar/partition. I grab his tail, saying "back" all the way to the step
down. Then I say "down".

At first he wanted to turn around, but I refused to let him start that
habit. I guess this also goes along with the rider-horse combination
posts, because he doesn't stay calm for anyone but me. Guess that means
I'd better not get injured on any of the CTRs or my husband will never get
Felix home :-)
