Hi Janet:
I'll do my best to explain it, though I am no expert. An elevator ride
consists of allowing the rider/horse the option of entering a ride, for
example, a 50 miler, completing, then if everything goes well, having the
option to 'elevate' to a greater distance, such as 75 or 100 miles. Or they
can stop at 50 miles and get completion for 50 miles. If they continue onto
the greater distance, and are pulled, for example, at 70 miles into the
ride, they will receive no credit, not even for the first 50 miles. That is
how I have had it explained to me, I hope I have it correct.
I have received several responses privately from riders who would be
interested in doing an elevator ride from a 25 to a 50. I have never heard
of a ride of this type - has anybody else?
Happy Trails,
