Greyhounds and saddles

Hi there,

To the person enquiring about the greyhounds. I must say I have not had one
personally but they say they make good pets, although how house trained they
are if they have been in kennels I don't know. Apparently they require less
exercise than you think and similarly their food requirements are not
massive. One thing is they may feel the cold more than some other breeds
of dog especially as they get older. If they have had a 'hard' racing
career they may well develop arthritis etc. but then any old animal is
likely to develop that. They generally seem to be a friendly breed, but
each dog is an individual.

To the person with the Austrialian saddle which flapped up and down, it
should not be doing it! It will definately give your horse a bad if it
hasn't already got one. It will need attention by a good saddler and or a
new saddle, a short term solution may be to use a pad which is built-up
under the rear of the saddle but does not interfere with the fitting of
tree. Had you been in the UK I could have given you a contact, perhaps
someone on the list nearer you can recommend a good saddler

Cheers
Andrea
