100 Mile Races

I know of a few rides that are exactly the mileage specified, 100 miles,
and which are run in very low times. The below 9 hour time is usually
set when the race is relatively flat, the trail is good, and the weather
is cool.

Unsubstantiated rumors aren't worth passing on even with qualifications.
The majority of ride managers try very hard to get exact mileage,
using whatever means necessary to be fair to everyone.
