Hooves I can't help much with. My pastures have stayed fairly dry and my
horses keep their shoes as they are being ridden. No muck problems here.
However, I'd go with the sand myself as it drains better.

With blankets I think you get what you pay for. If it costs a bunch it's
probably better than something that doesn't. A new zealand rug is great as
is those Rambo Turnouts. It seems to me every blanket I spent less than $125
for was worthless. Just one opinion. Best ones we ever had were a green
blanket with white fittings that hubby's fmaily had at their barn and no one
knows where they came from. They were a tough shelled durable blanket. I
wish I cold find them again, I would pay any price. Don't buy those fake NZ
rugs from Stateline. I had two that were destroyed within one or two wearings.

I fit costs alot it's probably pretty good.
