We are specifically looking for a vet who understands endurance horses,
a good farrier (we have a horse who foundered in the past, but sound and
competing with a good farrier's care), and areas to ride/trail heads for
the area's forest lands.
The up side to this move is being closer to a lot of rides (min. 6 hr
drive from Chesapeake!), potentially more area to train on, and HILLS to
train on. The down side is less riding from now til the move while
selling current farm, buying or building new place, looking for new
work, gaining enough seniority at new job to take off for endurance
rides... I suspect that our goal of riding the Old Dominion again this
year will be postponed. <Heavy Sigh>
Any info on the area or on folks to contact there is greatly
appreciated.
