[endurance] Interior Tendon Injury

Last November my 10 year old Arab gelding injured his interior ligiment
on his front leg. I laid off riding him completely until last month and
have slowly been trying to bring him back. However there is a thickness
to the injured part of his leg that wasn't there before the injury (but
no heat). I've been using a magnetic wrap which has seemed to help. My
problem is with the thickness, does this pose a continuing problem or
possible problem? Anyone have experience with this?
