My friends 17 year old mare has been diagnosed with ringbone. Vet
recommends a $3000. surgery with a 75% chance she will be ridable
again. Says she is not ridable now. She is not lame, just ouchy if
ridden. Russell has to decide if he wants to retire her, if her
quality of life is bad enough to put her down (no, not now at least),
or pay for surgery which he cannot afford at this time.

Any suggestions? Please email me privately, if I get a good summary of
anything new I'll post it to the list.
