thanks so much to all for the time and helpful hints. just finished three 14
hour shifts in the icu so will look all this over and start tomorrow. you
are right that Zirc is very competitive but also a terrific athlete and
wonderful friend for many years. acquired him at the age of 8 andhe had
never been ridden. i should have had him started professionally--next time i
will do just that. but we have had thousands of miles and hours together,
and i wouldn't trade. but i don't mind stopping with a little lesss fuss so
i am going to study all the great advice. sometimes i ride up here in the
hills with dr. Nancy, and she thinks zirc is actually "settled" in his old
age! took him to csu for wellnes exam--passed with flying colors-- when
iasked what i could do to improove his quality of life, the vet suggested
Adequan prophylactically. eitheer one a week times three weeks then one a
month, or just one a month. forr any definite injury, she leans toward ha
(legend) i.v. one a week for three weeks. said adequan is a little higher up
in the chain, and should stimulate the horse's own production of HA. said
there is actually an oral adequan (glucosamino) which i stil very
expensive---cosequan---which should drop in price in the future. what are
anyone's experiences with legend? adequan notes from Roger noted. excuse
typos---better nurse than typist. Sandy and Zirc.
