FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

"NO HANDS" BRIDGE UPDATE

June 13, 1996

"NO HANDS" BRIDGE TO BE OPEN FOR THE WESTERN STATES
ENDURANCE RUN AND WESTERN STATES TRAIL RIDE

During a meeting held June 13, 1996, Steven Anderson, Resource
Planner with the U. S. Bureau of Reclamation, granted permission
for the runners participating in the 96 WS 100 Mile Endurance
Race and the riders participating in the 96 Tevis Cup 100 Miles
One Day Ride to cross "No Hands" Bridge on Run and Ride days.

The bridge will be monitored for seismic activity during the
course of the events, and should the need arise, the runners and
riders will be re-routed along a pre-determined alternate route.

We wish to express our sincerest thanks to the Bureau of
Reclamation, Neil Moore and the general public for their
cooperation and their willingness to help in this matter.

The cooperation of ALL agencies, foundations and persons around
the world has been an example of how the private sector and
volunteers and the government can accomplish an almost impossible
task for the satisfaction of the public. Our government really
does listen to the voice of the community.
