Endurance Horse (Old Dominion trail)- owner Roberta Jo Lieberman
Short-backed leggy horse- powerful & quick for his size. Big chest, high withers, good bone.
Excellent large, well-shaped feet. Bred & conformed to excel at the 100 mile distance.
After initial ground-driving & work on the longe, was sent to trainer Jim Leslie in Lexington,VA in 1995 for 3 months of professional training- round pen, work under saddle which included solo cross country rides- encountered rocks, deer, water & other natural obstacles & took it all in stride.Goes in a snaffle. Needs quiet, confident handling through his next stage of training to give him the miles and confidence for years of riding. Although he is green, he is willing & waiting for direction. I think his attitude will serve him well in endurance, he is very laid back.
Equus is a pleasure to work around. Quiet on the ground- stands for grooming without ties. Loves attention & being fussed over, bonds quickly to people. Stands well for farrier. Not herd-bound- does not mind being the only horse in the barn. Has been dewormed every 60 days with ivermectin or Strongid. Trimmed or shod every 6 weeks. Vaccinated against Potomac Horse Fever , flu/rhino, EEE/WEE/tetanus.
I am asking $6,000 for Rushcreek Equus. He can be seen in Maryland. Please call or e-mail for more information. Photos & video available.
