Al-Marah is offering a comprehensive endurance clinic and summer camp
for adults (kids over 13 may come if they bring an adult) from
July 14-20.
Staff and Cirriculum - Personal instruction from 3-time World Champion
Endurance Rider Becky Hart; Judith Ogus, 1993 North American Champion
and AERC National Champion; and a complement of basic riding instructors.
Topics will include:
Setting goals - from first ride through international competition
Conformation and selection of the endurance horse
Training and conditioning the endurance horse
Feeding the endurance horse
Getting ready for the ride
How to get through vet checks
Pacing the race
Centered riding - how it helps you and your horse
LOTS of riding
Setting - Historic Hat Ranch, Williams, Arizona (gateway to the Grand
Canyon). Amenities include tennis court, fishing, and videos. This is a
working ranch, not a resort. Good mattresses and excellent food,
but no menu choice and no private baths.
Cost - $900 per person, including horse and all meals. $450 due with
registration. Accommodations limited to 24 participants.
