[endurance] Post ride trot out

Hearing people talk about the post ride trot-out for the vet reminded me of
a story I can't resist telling. I took my new horse Shatta on his first 50
mile ride last fall, and it was my first ride in about 2 years. I had also
previously injured my knee, and got my foot stepped on at the last vet
check by another horse. I was limping pretty good at the last vet check
at 45 miles. Shatta blew through the vet exam, and I had to trot him out.
He was still full of energy, and pulled me down the road and back during
our trot. I was hobbling along with him, and got back to the vet. He
watched us stop, rubbed his chin with his hand, looked at us for a second,
and said "hmmm. Grade three lameness on two legs, muscle sore, and looks
terrible." I about fainted! I looked at him in astonishment, trying to
figure out what was wrong with my horse. The vet looked real serious for a
second, then smiled and said "Not the horse, he looks magnificent. I'm
talking about you!"
