My best horses have always been rejects for one reason or another. My
friends would call me up--Hey, Diane, go look at this horse before it
goes to the meat market, or is put down, whatever. And when I saw them,
there would be that "look", a "knowing" if you will, and the horse told
me he'd like to come live with me. We saw Miss B on a hill, galloping
down to the fence with a huge herd of mares & babies & yearlings, and
Kevin said "That's the one". We just "knew".
If I just wanted good conformation, I'd hire an outside consultant to get
me something....but I know it just wouldn't work out.
