I got very good at staying on a bucking horse a few years ago riding some
young thoroughbreds training dressage. Anyways... As I've learned it, you
use the reins to pull the horses head up and you use leg to push the horse
on. A moving horse can't be bucking. There's a "stop" to every buck. So
if you keep them moving and get the head up (head down in order to buck),
you can usually control the situation. Obviously, good balance and strong
legs help to stay on. Also, you need to sit back and sit deep, otherwise
you won't be able to get the head up and horse moving forward as effectively.

Just think, practice makes perfect :g:
