Louise asks an interesting question about color and cooling .

I have five horses. One medium bay Arab mare, her dark bay
daughter, a chestnut Arab gelding, a light bay Arab-App
          cross
and a half Saddlebred Pinto filly out of the dark mare.

In our bitter Wisconsin winters, the bay mare almost freezes. I
have to keep her blanketed from Dec to March(this year).

The others are fine. No shivers. The one mare is 14 hands, finely
made, and fine skinned. I wonder if it is the physiology of the
individual. She has been a top comp horse. Her scores are
good because she cools so well.

          What do you think?
