When we have children, we are taking on the responsibility of caring
for them and teaching them right from wrong and safe from unsafe. My
kids will wear their helmets or they will not ride. Same with bikes. I
will protect them until I am no longer able. That's part of being a
parent. As you say, "Shit will happen", but I'll be as prepared for it
as I can, and so will those I love.
You protect your horse from danger, then why won't you protect
yourself?

Sorry guys, I disagree. There ARE acts of God out there and no matter what
we do, "shit" will happen.
I am one of those people who believes that it is not good enough to tell your
children that the stove is hot. I think they should find out for themselves.
If we keep try to protect people from themselves...then we are indeed losing
our freedom.
