Say Wendy, what I meant by an "act of God" was NOT the fact the she forget
her helmet, but the fact the her horse, probably well-schooled, was doing
something he proably did dozens of times before by walking out the driveway
on pavement and had proably never had a cause to fall. The "act of God" I am
refering to is the chance we all take...even horses aren;t perfect and
although they don't want to fall, they do. And, not all of us get our heads
hit when we fall. I, frankly, would rather end up dead than paralyzed, which
could just as easily happened.
It is a personal choice, this helmet issue and many others that our
"government" and "management" have pushed down our throats in our "own best
interests". Frankly, try as they may, they cannot take MY freedom from me
and should not from anyone. Unfortunately, we are becomming a society of
uneducateds, of non-thinkers and non-reasoners. It is this lack of personal
self-esteem, no longer taught or encouraged, that our "governing bodies" seem
to feel they need to protect.
Sorry for the soapbox, but it is late and I'm on a roll. But, I feel very
deeply about personal freedoms and personal choices, by they right or wrong
is for no one to judge by by conscience.
