Sorry Teddy - I have to disagree with your statement that Catherine the woman
who recently died in a riding accident was "an act of God" - God did not have
her leave her helmet at home that night....

He give us all 'free choice' hers was to choose not to ride without her
helmet that night - as it is your choice as well...

I'm glad that you and others have not had a tragedy horse riding - and am
equally sorry that this woman and her family have experienced this one. It
will not be the same, ever, for that family, or horse barn.

You are right though Teddy, in that it is 'your choice' for a helmet -
whether on a race or riding in your pasture -

I would strongly encourage that we all minimize the chance of Sympathy cards
being sent to our families because we left our riding helmet at home - after
all, our decisions do effect others. Whether we die in an accident or need
special physical attendence for life-- it always 'costs' someone something

What price are you willing to pay to ride without a helmet?

May we all Ride Safe and Sound -
