Ş I am a new member to the world of endurance/competitive trail
riding. I have been considering purchasing the Sports Saddle. . . . I have a few questions if anyone would like to
comment. They are: 1) Is a person's "backside" as comfortable after 25+
miles in the Sports Saddle versus a saddle with bars?? 2) Further
clarification about the "flap" underneath the leg/knee that has caused some
problems; 2) the position of the stirrups for balance and 3) is this saddle
good for someone who might have an "achy" lower back?Ş

Iıve had a sports saddle for about three years now, and cannot imagine life without it. weıve done several hundreds in it, as well as numerous 50s, almost always top ten, and neither my horse nor I has had a sore back (or backside for that matter) when using it. It also opened up his shoulders, totally changing his way of going -- for the better. His trot went from short, high and fast to long, low and fast -- a great improvement. I havenıt had any problems with the flap under the leg, but have found that the wraps around the stirrup leathers (nylons really) tend to fall off, so I duct tape them on for long rides, and just donıt bother with them for shorter training rides. I borrowed a sports saddle before I bought my own, and found that the stirrup leathers (nylons) were set too far forward, so that I had to fight to keep my legs under me. So when I ordered my saddle, I had them set the leathers further back so my legs hang right. This might be something the companyıs corrected by
now -- but itıs worth as
king about.
Hope this helps.
