This was a two-day 100 mile - first day (Aug.12) hot and humid - in 90's
- first 25 miles rocky,mountains, woods - 2nd 25 miles dirt roads, wood
trails, much flatter terrain (faster)
second day was repeat of first day trails - weather much cooler, windy,
sunny but in the low 70's (thunderstorms nite before cooled things off)
I was eliminated at end of first 50 miles - Anna's pulse came down fast,
but her CRI bumped up while waiting in the heat for the vet exam, and was
pulled (she has a heart murmur, and hot, humid weather will do that to
her - pulse is fine, but then bumps up within 30 minutes and hangs around 68)
Otherwise, great time - Anna did well, got stronger as the day went on -
in 4th place at the end of 50 miles -
Vets for ride - Art King, Canada, and Barbara Perkins, Maine
