My horse Frank has jigged, tossed his head, rooted,
pulled, danced, fussed, and generally tried nearly every other move to go faster
or to pass some horse, real or imagined, for many of our miles
together. Right now, that is about 5,000 AERC miles, and I certainly hope
that Frank lives long enough to do all of those activities as well as add to his
repertoire for another 5,000 miles. But, since he is at least 20, I will
have to console myself to enjoy every remaining jigging mile recognizing that
there will come a time when I would return every buckle, jacket, patch, and
coffee cup, just to share another few jigging miles.
