[RC] more truck questions/Glo-plugs - heidi larsonHaving my trucks glo-plugs checked and likely replaced, having harnass checked as well. Truck is an F250, 1996, 4x4 powerstroke, less than 110K on it. It starts only when plugged in and kept warm. It will start when unplugged but it's too hard on it and the ignition to keep trying to get it to start - like at rides! :( The estimated cost to replace glo-plugs is $17.00 each plus labor - they'll test them and replace all if a few are out, estimating $500 total unless the harnass is what is bad, then it will be cheaper. Any comments on what a typical cost for this might be? I think I've got a good mechanic place, but you can just never be sure, especially when that is not my area of expertice! It seems like a good price, my ex had a GMC that had glo-plugs done back about 15 years ago and it was over a grand, but he may have had a couple other things done at the same time, not sure. . o o o o . o_ \ \____ o_ \_\ .
