Re: [RC] Very Virtual Endurance - John Teeter - Crysta TurnageThe VV Rides are actually a really nice complement to AERC. Pretty much any rider who GOES to an AERC ride (or several) that also participates in a VV Ride is going to be one of the very top finishers. Since VV is recorded on mileage only, doing an actual AERC ride is still one of the easier ways to rack up 50+ miles in a day. Also, its not like the VV Rides are recognized for any sort of points and/or awards beyond those which John and Steph so kindly donate as ride managers. If anything, it's a great way to get people out riding. =) On 2/23/09, Kitley, Carrie E Civ USAF AFSPC 30 MDSS/SGSLF <carrie.kitley@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: John - I think this is a fascinating idea and I'm very intrigued by it because I don't like traveling so much either. But, my question is, how does this benefit AERC? Or, won't this take away from the organization itself in some ways? Carrie This was one of the reasons I started the VVRides. I don't like to get in the trailer and drive 8 hours to a ride. Going to a multi-day makes it easier, as you still have to drive 8 hours, but at least you get to ride more than one day b/f you have to drive back.... ---------------------------------- Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
