Then, it restricted the ligament just under the kneecap, and that area got really sore. I'm with Cindy - I don't understand how 1/2 chaps would cause shin splints.I've had shin bruising - big time - when I rode an Orthoflex saddle (a looong time ago), which had the Blevins buckles. They hit in the middle of my shins, and by the end of the fifty (my first), it felt like little imps were sticking ice picks in there... not fun.
