[RC] Scruffy - rides2farFor those of you in the SE, we lost our favorite camp dog this weekend. Just heard they had to put Susan Kasemayer's best buddy Scruffy down at the Pow Wow ride. She'd been having health problems and the time came to do it. I can't think of any dog that knew how to act at a vet check better than Scruffy. She just slept under Susan's chair when she needed to be out of the way and visited when the time was right. I remember when Susan lost her last dog she said she and Don went to the pound to get a new one. Scruffy was there. If I recall correctly they said she had mange, had just weaned pups (and her figure showed it)...and maybe even heart worms. Don picked her saying, "If *we* don't get her, who will?" She turned out to be a beautiful little Schi Tzu type dog with a great personality. My favorite Scruffy memory and most regretted missed photo op was at Talladega this year. Later in the day when things had slowed down Scruffy decided to flop over and take a nap in the middle of the trot out area.
