[RC] SPOT GPS - Jan and Bill Stevens

We just bought a SPOT GPS for my father-in-law this Christmas because he is always out alone on a 4-wheeler, horseback, or in a truck. It has a tracking device in it and we can see where he is when he's out on the forest or feeding cattle or merely driving to town. It doesn't work off of cell towers, but off of satellites. I'm sure there are areas that are blacked out, but it seems to work so far. He can 'ping' it and it will send an email and a text message to whomever we have set-up to receive them and then we can track him as he goes along on-line from the Spot website. He can also hit 911 and it will relay directly to 911 services which will give them his lat/ log location if he needs to.
