Re: [RC] Ideal WEC Course - stephanie teeterLynn - we just might have to do something about this :)Steph (maybe even a 2 day 100?) On Dec 8, 2009, at 9:22 AM, Lynn White wrote: OK I'll bite on this. The perfect WEC course would be in the Albion Range in Southern Idaho. Someone bought the old Normal School in Albion and is rehabbing it. That would be a great facility to use when it is complete. There's a premier veterinary clinic in Albion. The ride would go from Albion to Almo and back on a 100- mile loop, mostly on FS land. Almo has the world famous "City of Rocks" and Historic Oregon trail and would be amazing to ride through. There are high glacial lakes and since the range sits in southern Idaho a rider would get the impression of being on top of the world. Lots of good footing and two-tracks for the "race." Lots of water and grass. Oldest sedimentary/metamorphic rocks on the planet...something for the geologists. Some rocky areas. Easy access to out-vet checks too. Of course, that silly 12.3-hour time limit would HAVE to go. It would be a tough technical course. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
