RE: [RC] Scratches - Rae Callaway

My Old Man used to get a fungus all over his head and body and none of the 
microbial treatments worked.  What finally worked was spraying a Captan 
solution on him.  It's a powder and you can find it in the garden section of 
the store.  It's labled for roses, but it really knocked out the fungus on the 
horses too.

.... as the owner of the horse one of my favorite endurance vets dubbed "fungus 
face" this year, I'd love to hear some remedies also.  :-)

Destin + Antibotic Oint made no difference, Gold Bond helped the most but very 
hard to get on the face >g< .....  I was seriously considered a course of oral 
antibotics...   it kept spreading, even with putting the horse in a stall 
during dew hours..  :-(

However, it can call a fine Arabian mare and her offspring to pickup the 
nicknames: "Scab" and "Son of Scab", much to the dismay of their owner. 
Such information is shared here at the risk of life and limb by the husband
