That's would be an exercise in futility for everyone from the jump.. It's but one tool in the toolbox i've found to get his attention more on ME rather than the hullabaloo. I clicker train, and my horse knows when she trots nicely with her head down on the lunge, she will get a click and a treat. So, right off the bat, she is calm and listening. It's also when I take up the girth one last hole before mounting.
