Re: [RC] Braking time (was: So Cal, etc.) - Barbara McCraryOne of my pet peeves is the driver who cuts into the space in front of me while I'm driving a horse-laden trailer. I tend to prefer a space between me and the vehicle in front of me, so if I have to make a sudden stop, I have a bit more room in which to do it. Usually that space is an invitation to drivers to pull in front of me. As Kat says, people who don't understand horses don't realize how this is impacting my safety and that of the horse(s) in the trailer.Barbara ----- Original Message ----- From: "k s swigart" <katswig@xxxxxxx> To: <ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, January 28, 2009 9:22 AM Subject: [RC] Braking time (was: So Cal, etc.) Granted, people with live loads (like horses) don't like to stop their vehicles as fast as the vehicle can be stopped and with good reason (because I don't want to have the horse in the truck with me); however, I personally think it is the responsibility of the person hauling the live load to accommodate their live loads, not the responsibility of everybody else on the road. Why WOULD you expect non horse people to understand that you are unwilling to stop your vehicle as fast as it can be stopped?
