[RC] re: towing concerns - Cindy CollinsI think the biggest concern we all struggle with is not "can" my 3/4 ton gasoline engine pull a given weight of trailer, BUT will the transmission hold up to the continual strain, especially if you live where you must pull over mountains. And, even more terrifying, is can it stop the whole rig if I'm going down a mountain?! That's my own worry, anyhow. If your transmission gets fried in the wrong place, you could be in deep ****, same with the brakes. I don't think this conversation should be about who is right or wrong. I think it's about education and safety. Many of us already know that we need a "bigger" or different truck and personally, I have really appreciated all of the information I've gotten on ridecamp to help me make future decisions.
