Re: [RC] weigh your trailer - Laney Humphrey

Years ago, on my way to St. Jo, MO for the beginning of the XP01 ride, I weighed my loaded to the gills rig. I was overweight by several hundred pounds. Several years later I was shopping for a new truck and trying to be careful. Figuring out just how much more, say a 1 ton, can pull over a 3/4 ton isn't easy because the truck itself weighs more which then has to be subtracted from the total. When all was said and done, there wasn't much difference, especially considering that there wasn't much difference between the two engines either. It seems to me, that the best best for real safety is to forget the "light" trucks and go up to a 1.5 ton.
