RE: [RC] Equestrian culture may be fading into the sunset-California - Michael Lewis
Investigating my own thoughts on this
issue… I’m looking at a Crown Victoria to replace an Impala (worn
out) and a Dodge Ram 3500 (large payment). The Crown Vic offers more space to
put the family than a regular cab pickup, plus better fuel economy when driven
to work and back each day.
I drive to work and back 5x a week, but
would only pull trailer 2x a month or maybe 3 if competing.
Now, the likelihood is that I will sell
the worn out Impala outrights and keep the Ram, rather than trading both in on
a car; however if I were in a pinch and had to go down to only one vehicle, a
used car capable of pulling a small bumper pull trailer may be the only viable option.
Ah, to have my dad’s old 1977
Pontiac Grand Prix…

Exactly.
And for the comment that it's too bad "they don't make cars that
can pull a trailer" -- why would you want a car when you can have a small
truck and a small trailer. You can still pull a 2 horse trailer with a
small truck, like a F-150. You don't "have to have" a 1 ton dually
diesel and a LQ trailer.
Not so long ago most people pulled light trailers with light trucks,
that was the norm, not the exception, like it is now.
