Re: [RC] Gator Run GPS Track Wanted - Truman Prevatt

And it IS a charge. I remember the '95 Concerned Horseman at DuPuis where it was cool and a nice breeze blowing and my horse had somehow become "Michael Jordan" for the day. Carl Meyer and I went out and did the first 17 mile loop in about an hour. They weren't even ready when at the check when we got in. My wife yelled at me - "what the hell are you doing." The horse was 56 when I got off. I pulled back the last 8 mile loop because that loop was a little muddy at the end and I wasn't going to risk racing in that mud. The way the horse was going (running laps in her pen between bites) at the last stop I figured she had a good shot at BC (which she did win). My time was about 3:40.

If will remember that ride for the rest of my life - it was a blast. Sometimes it's fun to go fast ;-) !

Don,
I did use my GPS on all 3 days of Gator Run, but did not remember to turn on until a mile or 2 into each loop. Anyway if i can figure out how to send it it to you I will. I did my second day of 50 miles in 4hrs 5 min my horses fastest time, and yes we were flying. I looked down to check speed occassioanally and it was 14mph. The weather was perfect for the horses and there was nothing on the trail to slow you down, it was so much fun. I do beleive I hav the horse to compete at the WEG, but alas I do not have the money.
