FW: [RC] Fall Horse Camping - No. California - Mike SherrellMy vet Mitch Benson every New Year's used to take a horse and a pack mule out to Wildcat campground overlooking the ocean and camp out for a few days. I think you may need a permit or reservation to do something like this. There are also some public horse corrals on Sir Francis Drake, called Taylor or something, with a campground across the road. I know of a few no-man's-land type places out in the valley where fishers camp out that you could either ride from or ride from very close cross country jumping-off points, but that may be a little rough for you.
