[RC] Owyhee Halloween - UPDATE 30/55 - stephanie teeter

Ok - we finally have Day 1 trail finalized. (we lost access through private property at short notice, had to find some new trail).

IMPORTANT!!! The 30 mile riders will START and FINISH at the Birch Creek Vet check, not from camp. This way you can ride up the canyon and enjoy the new scenery!

You can drive out there on your own Saturday morning for a 10:00 start.

Or - if you're camping at Regina's Friday night you can car pool out from camp (30 minute drive) or we can haul a limited number.

Driving directions to the vetcheck are also on the trail map.

From Regina's place on Wees Rd - turn left (east) onto Hwy 78 towards Grandview, go almost 2 miles, turn RIGHT onto Castle Creek Rd (Oreana Loop Rd) - the turn is at the top of the hill and will be flagged. It is directly across from a large gravel area where the trail comes out and crosses onto the same road.

Please let us know if you will need to be hauled out to the vetcheck from camp!!

The 50 mile distance is back up to 55 miles (actually it's 52.6) . You will start from Regina's at 8:30am. (enough light for a safe start). The course is mostly flat, good footing, not very difficult, there shouldn't be any trouble finishing before dark.

Dinners Friday night (Fajita's) and Saturday night (pulled pork)

Weather - current forecast is for high temps in the lower 50's, lows in the mid 30's. Slight chance of showers (20%), mostly cloudy. Regina's place is lower elevation than the Teeter Ranch camp, should be good riding. We've had recent rain and the footing is PERFECT!
