[RC] Girth galls and shaving hair - Sheila_Larsen

A potential reason for your girth galls is the way your horse walks. My
mare has a really big stride at the walk and because of the way she is
built the girth slips forward behind her elbow. The skin was getting
pinched/rubbed between her elbow and the girth. Making the girth thicker
with a girth cover or a mohair made it worse. I switched to a thinner
girth (wintec) and used the stuff (Glide?) to make it a little slippery.
Thanks,
Sheila
