Now after 4 months of continuos rest he is still lame!
The examining vet said he had a spine problem which could lead to a 'wobblers'. May even need 2 years of rest and even then the prognosis is uncertain.

Wobblers? Spine problem? I may be wrong, but "wobblers" is a neurological condition that occurs in younger horses.

And how did this vet diagnose the "spine problem?" If by simply
looking, or not, just surmising, then a second opinion, and maybe
a third, is certainly called for.

I have noticed over the years that many vets have to offer a
definitive diagnosis even if they have no idea what is going on.

I am definite believer in chiropractic having seen a good number
of animals exhibit dramatic improvement after just one treatment.
