Maybe someone else here has had different experiences and can share....

I've not seen anyone able to "cure" it... have a client horse that's had them 
over 10 years, (she's the oldest I have first hand experience with)... hers 
will clear up a bit, then break out thicker..  ;-(

On the upside, they don't seem to bother the horses in the least, just the 
owners!  :-P
