Re: [RC] award???? - Maggie MieskeShannon Weston and Shayna Steffel once had their dad take photos for the Bear River Ride and that was the completion award. I think Tin Cup Springs (Becke Grams) has done this also. With the right equipment and location, it's not hard to get to Wal Mart (or another one of those digital photo places) and have any size printed up you'd like. Even a 4 X 6 is a great gift! We still have ours! Love 'em! Maggie Mieske Lecturer English Department/Foundation Program Qatar University P.O. A paper certificate has always been considered acceptable as meeting the criteria for "an award." However, it appears that many do not place any value on it. We have offered certificates as a way for riders to save $25 on their entry fee, which many like to do. I am able to create all our certificates on my computer and I think they look quite handsome, made on colored parchment paper with the ride logo on it. IF we ever put on another ride, and IF people scorn a paper certificate, then I'd come up with something else. The suggestion for a roll of Vet Wrap was brilliant. I can think of several other small, inexpensive items that would pass for the reduced entry fee. A piece of paper with "Completion Award" written on it in crayon by the RM's 6 yr old child would qualify.* > > Ed > Ed & Wendy Hauser > 2994 Mittower Road > Victor, MT 59875 > > *"It's a JOKE, son, a JOKE!"
