My 2 y.o. filly had the same symptoms.
My vet checked her and said it my be allergies. I tried different hays to
no avail. Finally I spent the money, over $300, to have her allergy
tested. She is allergic to ALL grass hays and the worst allergy is to
molasses. So I feed her only alfalfa and forage hay (barley oat mix)
she is much better. No more cough, pink eyes, runny nose.
