[RC] AERC National Championship Ride (100 mile event) - Chris MartinNeedless to say it was MONK's day at the Champ ride, it was something that we had never even considered.? We are being very careful and have yet to race this horse.? Some would say by looking at his record that he has been raced hard, but that is not the case, he just happens to one of those horses.A wrote a short view of the ride from my perspective on MONK's blog, link below. I really want to thank my crew.? You don't go from 15th to 5th at the first vet check without a good crew, and a good horse.? We picked up a few helpers along the way also.? Bob Spoor help several times taking MONK's HR, because his owner forgot the chest strap....thanks Bob, (need a email or telephone number for him) ..hate it when I do that.? Kathy Ford was probably our best crew person and the one that did the most work. Lindsay's mom, the owner of the famous Phoenix Affair, her husband Steve and Eric, Lindsay's sweetie and my lovely wife Nancy and myself rounded out the winning crew for 09 Champ ride.
