[RC] Ace Side-effects (was: dentistry) - k s swigart

Dyane said:

Turns out, Ace is known to make horses light-headed.

It is also known to cause penile paralysis (so wise vets try to avoid using it
on stallions, since the only cure for that is amputation), and has a tendency
to make them "kicky" (they may respond violently to sudden stimulus).

It makes them "light headed" because it lowers blood pressure.? It is a
vaso-dialator.

I don't know very many vets who use ace.? My vet mostly uses detomidine
(Dormosedan), and I know lots who use xylazine.
