The Mongolian horses were never asked to do "endurance" as it's been vehemently, patriotically defined and defended since Year One of the Annual Winter Whiner Wars on Ridecamp. These tough, hardy, pissy little ponies went 25 miles/day--a distance not even worthy of Top 10 or BC. <insert tomato toss here or wait til winter> The "horse welfare" issue was a smokescreen for the fact that certain egotistically disenfranchised, internationally marginalized curmudgeons, not mentioning the Long Riders by name, suffered from fulminating, degenerative, terminal, Jungian Dark Shadow-archetypal NIHism (Not Invented Here).
