[RC] Don't you have to qualify? (was: NC 50) - k s swigart

I thought that the horse and rider together had to qualify for the National 
Championship.? Did I get this wrong?

Here is what I got off the AERC web-site:

All entries must meet AERC qualification criteria:


       * 50-mile ride: 300 lifetime miles (horse) AND 300 lifetime miles 
(rider), with at least 100 miles together. 
?
Or is there a separate division in the NC ride for people who aren't actually 
entered in the NC, but just are doing an unrestricted ride on the same trail?
