Famotidine is an H2 receptor, not the same thing as TUMS at all. It is used to limit the amount of stomach acid produced, not to combat or absorb it after the fact. I think they may have gotten there drugs mixed up. Not the same at all. TUMS or Calcium Carbonate is actually just an ingredient already in electrolytes. Just in a chewable tablet form.

I have no idea where you are getting your information from but there is no ingredient called "famotidine" listed on the product ingredients. using tums is no different than giving a horse electrolytes. We have also stopped "thumps" with plain old alfalfa. So get off your high horse.
